Caputo meets with Pollack in second round of talks
Finance Secrteary Luis Caputo met with US court appointed mediator Daniel Pollack to discuss Argentina’s legal dispute against so called “vulture” funds suing the country over its 2002 defaulted bonds.
Caputo reportedly arrived in Pollack’s offices in New York City at noon today, joined by deputy chief of cabinet Mario Quintana and other Argentine officials.
Pollack made brief statements to the press when reporters asked him if a meeting with hedge funds would be taking place today. “Probably,” he said.
In the meantime, Revenue and Finance Minister Alfonso Prat Gay today announced the government reached a debt agreement with Italian bondholders for US$900 million.
