Griesa holding call conference with Argentina, vultures on bond issue
US District Judge Thomas Griesa was holding a call conference with representatives of Argentina and so called “vulture” funds suing the South American country over its defaulted bonds.
The call comes following Tuesday’s confirmation that Buenos Aires was selling US$1.4 billion in bonds, a third attempt in three months to issue dollar-denominated debt.
New York court sources told the Buenosairesherald.com that Griesa called for a conference call for today at 12 pm local time to address the bond issue.
NML Capital, one of the two leading hedge funds involved in Argentina's debt talks, had warned it will closely watch the operation, stepping up its pressure to scare off potential investors.
