Buenos Aires province Governor Daniel Scioli expressed his optimism that negotiations with holdout hedge funds will be successful and said they “will be very good for Argentina.”
Scioli pointed out that the talks to be held on Monday in New York with vulture funds are the “last stage” to normalise Argentina’s public debt burden. “I am confident. This will be very good for Argentina,” he stressed.
In an interview with a radio show, the governor said Argentina’s willingness to reach agreements with its creditors is “obvious,” and referred to the deals the government made with Spain's Repsol company over Argentina's YPF energy firm and more recently with the country’s Paris Club creditors.
The governor recognized that the South American counttry is facing “hard” negotiations, but reiterated his optimism. “Thing will get better for Argentina.”
