Senate committees discuss holdouts agreement
A Senate committee meeting began today to discuss a bill aimed at allowing the government to move forward with the settlement with holdout creditors after the Lower House passed it early in the morning following a marathon session.
The Budget and Finance committee headed by Juan Manuel Abal Medina was discussing the bill with the presence of Finance Minister Alfonso Prat Gay and the Treasury’s General Attorney Carlos Balbín.
On Thursday, provincial governors are schedule to appear before the committees to give their opinion about the government-sponsored bill. The CGT umbrella union and business chambers will do the same on Friday.
