Ukraine to issue $ 1 billion Eurobonds backed by U.S. guarantees

KYIV, March 24 /Ukrinform/. In April - May 2015, Ukraine plans to issue Eurobonds worth USD 1 billion under the guarantees of the U.S. government.

Finance minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko has said this in an interview with Reuters, the Finance Ministry press service reports.

"As part of the arrangements on the international financial support, which Ukraine could get from its bilateral and multilateral partners and which were 'unblocked' by the adoption of a new four-year program between Ukraine and the IMF on March 11, the Finance Ministry plans to issue the Eurobonds worth $ 1 billion under the state guarantees of the United States in April-May this year," reads the statement.

According to Jaresko, thanks to loan guarantees, the market participants will assess the risk of Ukrainian Eurobonds at the level of the U.S. sovereign risk.
