Ukrainians will have to bear until next year - Jaresko

KYIV, March 18 /Ukrinform. This year will be the most difficult for the Ukrainian economy, but growth can be expected next year.
This forecast was presented in Washington, USA, during Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko's two-day visit to the USA.
"I expect that this year will be an extremely difficult, but next year we will return to economic growth,” said the head of Ministry of Finance.
She informed that during her stay in the US capital she held talks with the representatives of the US administration and Congress. Jaresko thanked the United States for its assistance and urged to further support Ukraine in three sectors.
First, Ukraine will need more financial support.
Second, according to her, Ukrainians "require defensive weapons and military training" in order to bring the current conflict to an end.
Thirdly, sanctions against Russia "should be maintained and strengthened should the Minsk peace deal fails to be fully implemented."
Meantime, Natalie Jaresko called the effective implementation of reforms that "can lead the country forward" as the most important element of Ukraine's success.
Also, the Ukrainian Minister noted that there is a lack of information in the US concerning what Ukraine has already achieved in terms of its reforms. She said she would use an opportunity to report about reforms more often and on a regular basis.
