28/11/2011 - Custody Newsflash - Update of Euroclear Bank's Visit to Greece

Representatives of Euroclear Bank have met last week in Greece with the Public Debt Management Agency ("PDMA"), the Bank of Greece, the Hellenic Exchanges S.A. ("Helex") and Citibank International Plc Athens (as the operator of the Euroclear Bank accounts in the Bank of Greece and Helex).

We discussed some operational topics concerning the Private Sector Involvement ("PSI") which should be taken into account to ensure a smooth transaction, if a restructuring of Greece's debt were to materialize (which still needs to be confirmed).

The operational topics originated out of Euroclear Bank's operational experience in managing similar events in the past. Such operational topics, with the aim of simplifying the mechanics of any possible offer, were also discussed with Bondholder Communications Group, the agent.

There is still no definite date - only press articles speculating that the finalization of the deal involving the Greek debt and the Private Sector Involvement would be early next year.

Whilst the details and mechanics of any deal for the PSI remain unknown, we confirm our efforts in actively participating to the discussions, and we will keep our customers updated accordingly.
