IMF to attend Ukraine-creditors meeting
KYIV, June 23 /Ukrinform/. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has confirmed its participation in the meeting between the Government of Ukraine and the creditors.
The meeting of representatives of Kyiv with the committee of private holders of Ukrainian bonds will be held in Washington between June 29 and July 3, DW reports.
The IMF did not explain the role of the Fund in future negotiations. However, the committee of external commercial creditors of Ukraine stated they would like to see the new, not yet published IMF forecasts for the Ukrainian economy development before the negotiations.
"In order to properly consider the offers of Kyiv on debt restructuring, the committee and its advisers call on Ukraine and the IMF to publish these forecasts as soon as possible," reads the creditors' statement.
