"I will make some very important announcements about the economic recovery program 2015 in Venezuela, as well as all aspects of national financial stability, in Venezuelan currency and in freely convertible currency," said President Nicolás Maduro late on Monday.
The Venezuelan president's remarks came during a meeting with food producers in Caracas. He added that in the next few hours he would announce economic moves regarding the country's foreign exchange system.
In Maduro's view, his administration has worked "with good sense, in order to contain the onslaught of economic war and speculation, and in order to fight against the international onslaught of those hoping us to declare default."
Maduro explained that on Tuesday he would offer a year-end international press conference to provide details about the "economic recovery program 2015."
